We know we’ve been ignoring the web site of late, but so many of us have been involved in the fight to stop Seven/50. Last Thursday night we were victorious in educating and convincing four of our county commissioners that this mega-regional plan is NOT for the benefit of St. Lucie County. You can see the re-run of this milestone on Comcast channel 21, SLCTV, in the Fort Pierce area. I caught the tail end yesterday just in time to see and hear Frannie Hutchinson give her reasons for voting to withdraw. Epic!
Now, we can’t pull back. Not only must we support first Martin County citizens and then Palm Beach County citizens, it is imperative that more of us continue to attend BOCC meetings. One HUGE issue is the sand-scoping, the effort of Miami-Dade to take our off-shore sand to replenish the Miami beaches. Frannie Hutchinson indicated in her remarks that it looks like it’s going to happen. We have to rally to help her stop it!
We have one meeting this month on the 14th at the Genesis Community Church with a guest speaker. Our only meeting in December will be our Bi-Annual Pot Luck Supper on the second Thursday, the 12th. We hope to see many of you again!
